Suzie Mahony has being nominated by the Galway County & City Enterprise Board to represent Galway county in the upcoming ‘National Enterprise Awards’. Suzie, whose creations have adorned such well-known heads as Gráinne Seoige, Amanda Brunker, Caroline Harrington and Xpose’s Karen Koster is a native of Loughrea where her studio ‘Suzie Mahony Designs’ is located. She recently received an award for excellence in the headwear industry from international Hat Life Publications based in the USA when Suzie was chosen as one of only twenty milliners worldwide to receive a Hatty Award.
Introduced in 1997 the ‘National Enterprise Awards’ highlight the contribution that small enterprises make to Ireland’s economic development and acknowledges their role in building a vibrant and successful indigenous business sector. Speaking about the awards, Therese Connaire of the Galway County & City Enterprise Board said; “We have been happy to participate in this programme and this year the successful Galway nominees are, Suzie Mahony Designs representing the county and mocks.ie representing the city. The Galway County & City Enterprise Board is proud to support these businesses and wish them every success in the National Final”. The ‘National Enterprise Awards’ take place on Tuesday, 10th November 2009 at Dublin Castle.
